Melbourne is set to make sporting history this Friday, 11 September, as the NFL stages its first-ever regular-season game on Australian soil, with the Los Angeles Rams taking on the San Francisco 49ers at the MCG.

For Australian NFL fans, this moment has been years in the making. Two of the league’s most recognisable franchises will go head-to-head at one of Australia’s most iconic sporting venues, bringing the scale and spectacle of American football to Melbourne.

RAMS VS 49ERS — THE MAIN EVENT
The action kicks off at 10:35am on Friday, 11 September at the MCG, with the Los Angeles Rams facing their long-time NFC West rivals, the San Francisco 49ers.
The historic fixture represents far more than another game on the NFL calendar. It marks the league’s first regular-season match played in Australia and places Melbourne firmly on the international sporting stage.
With American football continuing to attract an increasingly passionate Australian following, the MCG provides an appropriately grand setting for the occasion.
