Aēsop’s Queer Library Returns to Melbourne, Celebrating LGBTQIA+ Voices Through Literature
Melbourne is once again set to embrace the power of storytelling as Aēsop’s Queer Library returns to the brand’s Flinders Lane store from 15–19 July, transforming the iconic space into a temporary library dedicated to celebrating LGBTQIA+ voices through literature.

Now in its fifth year, the annual initiative has become a much-loved event, inviting visitors to discover new perspectives through books written by queer authors. Guests are encouraged to select a complimentary book to take home—no purchase required—while stocks last.

This year’s edition, Body of Work, draws inspiration from Aēsop’s enduring relationship with literature, exploring the body as a bridge between our private selves and the wider world. The carefully curated collection celebrates writing that places queer experiences at its heart while shining a light on stories that have too often remained unheard.

Beyond offering readers the opportunity to expand their own bookshelves, the initiative continues to demonstrate the transformative power of literature. Since launching in 2021, Aēsop’s Libraries program has gifted more than 115,000 books worldwide, encouraging conversation, fostering community and amplifying underrepresented voices across the globe.
The initiative also extends its impact beyond the pages, with the Aēsop Foundation making a donation to Minus18, supporting LGBTQIA+ young people throughout Australia and reinforcing the importance of inclusion, acceptance and connection.
At Melbourne My Style, we love seeing brands create meaningful experiences that go beyond retail. Aēsop’s Queer Library is more than a collection of books—it is an invitation to listen, learn and celebrate the diverse stories that shape our communities.
Whether you’re an avid reader or simply curious to discover a new author, this unique literary experience is well worth adding to your Melbourne calendar this July.
