F1 Australian Rolex Grand Prix officially opens with a star-studded ‘Glamour on the Grid’ that includes Rebecca Judd, Daniel Rioli and Maria Thattil.

The glamour of the Formula One Australian Rolex Grand Prix was on full display last night with the annual ‘Glamour on the Grid ‘event officially opening the four-day International Racing event.

Over 700 guests were in attendance including some of Australia’s most famous faces with Michelle Payne, Zach Merrett, Daniel Rioli, Bec Judd, Lindy Klim, Maria Thattil, Mia Fevola and Brooke Warne leading the arrivals as they enjoyed the exclusive cocktail party at the two-storey Marriott Bonvoy Lounge.

The night was filled with high fashion with designers Jason Grech, Alin Le’ Kal, Con Illiopoulos, J’Anton’s Jacob and Anthony, Effie Kats and Milliner Richard Nylon all creating masterpieces for the celebrity crowd.

Jason Grech created a one-off custom piece for DJ Paris Lawrence, girlfriend of Daniel Rioli. Paris said, “Jason has made me feel really sexy and I love the way it’s pulled in at the waist with the long train and the flower detail on the shoulder”.

J’Anton designers Jacob and Anthony dressed Bec Judd and Maria Thattil with Maria a standout at the event in ravishing red.

Maria said, “I’m so excited, you could kind of say I’m also wearing Alfa Romeo, as the dress is inspired by Alfa Romeo’s new car, the ‘Tonale’, so J’Anton, Alfa Romeo and I came up with this.”

Maria says she’s so excited about the Grand Prix and goes on to say, “Australia is one of the sporting capitals of the world, it shows the best our country has to offer, that and of course fashion!”

Entertainment was enjoyed by all with performances from Vera Blue, DJ Paris Lawrence, and Edd Fisher.

The atmosphere was electric, with the excitement of the upcoming race palpable in the air.
