In an exclusive interview with Melbourne My Style, Rozalia opens up about her latest designs for the brand and the inspiration behind them.

What was the inspiration behind this latest collection?
“I love the 80’s trend of women in power suits and patent heels, they all look so strong and polished so that is what I have tried to portray with this collection. I feel like the shoes are all powerful and striking without being too overly complicated. It is all about that effortless power dressing.”
Could you tell us more about the unique features and designs of your patient leather boots?
“The Western boot is a huge overseas trend that has only taken off here in Australia. I feel like with the patent material and unique shape of the toe and heel we have created more of a fashion Western boot that you can wear with sleeker outfits.
Think dresses and suit jackets, this trend is not just for ranches.”
What sets your strapped stilettos apart from others in the market?
“It is so important to make sure that the heels are made with high-quality materials, so they do not rub in the wrong spots and are comfortable to wear. There is so much that goes into making a comfortable construction, such as a thick outer sole, so you do not feel the ground underneath you, a padded inner sole so the balls of your feet don’t ache and a comfortable heel height so you can walk, all whilst making sure the shoes are beautiful.
I feel like that is exactly what we have created, a sexy shoe without compromising on comfort.”
How do you ensure the perfect balance between style and comfort in your footwear?
“It comes down to making sure that the sole is padded as much as possible without compromising on a sleek thin look which is exactly what we have done.
The shoes are a beautiful sexy silhouette however we have added enough padding that it is soft on the foot and will last you through the night.”
Can you share any behind-the-scenes challenges you faced during the creation of this collection?
“We always work on a super tight turnaround and only ever have a chance to do one round of samples. After that sample is complete any changes, we submit are final so there really isn’t any room for error.
In an ideal world, I would love to work further in advance and have a chance to do two rounds of samples so that’s something I would work on for future collections.”
Rozalia, what type of consumer do you envision wearing your Winter Season Footwear collection?
“The collection sits at an affordable price point however we have not pulled back on the quality.
The consumer is anyone who wants to look and feel sexy in heels, whilst feeling comfortable and not needing to spend a fortune.”
Are there any particular trends or fashion influences that influenced this collection?
“When it comes to inspiration, I selfishly design for myself. Of course, I look to overseas and bigger brands to see what is trending and what colours /styles everyone is leaning towards however, all in all, I designed heels that I would love in my wardrobe and can’t seem to find on the market.
I feel like if you don’t genuinely love and wear what you create how can you expect the customer to fall in love with the style!”
What are your future plans for the brand, and can we expect any more exciting collaborations or launches in the near future?
“I absolutely adore the Billini team and thoroughly enjoy being creative and working together with brands to create collections. You never know there might be a Rozalia x Billini Winter Boots collection round three.
