Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller tours Melbourne and Sydney.
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Master Distiller Chris Fletcher is set to tour Sydney and Melbourne to celebrate World Whisky Day and launch the brand’s new whisky.
World Whisky Day is on May 20th and falls on the third Saturday of May each year.
To mark the occasion, Fletcher is joining Jack Daniel’s fans in Sydney and Melbourne to celebrate the launch of ‘Jack Daniel’s Bonded. This is the first super-premium Whiskey to be released in 25 years.
This premium drop joins other world-famous drinks for the company like Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey, Gentleman Jack Double Mellowed Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey and many more.
‘Jack Daniel’s Bonded’ was awarded the most exciting whiskey of 2022 by a Whisky Advocate and Master Distiller, Fletcher will be sharing the excitement with whiskey connoisseurs around Australia.
This is the first time in seven years the master distiller has returned to Melbourne.
Fletcher’s tour consists of three events in May, packed with tastings and exclusive access to one of Jack Daniel’s most knowledgeable employees.
The first event is ‘The Sound of Bonded’ at Hickson House in Dawes Point, Sydney. It will bring together String Musicians Australia and multi-sensory academic Professor Charles Spence for the first Australian tasting of ‘Jack Daniel’s Bonded. This event will be held on the 18th of May. This event is designed to show how the power of sound can enhance the bold flavours of the new ‘Jack Daniel’s Bonded’.
The second event, ‘The Tales of Lynchburg’ on the 19th of May, held at Bella Vista Hotel in Bella Vista, will include a tasting of Jack Daniel’s whisk(e)y portfolio and a delicious meal. Attendees will learn Fletcher’s stories about the distillery and be invited to ask questions about Jack himself.
The third and final event will be held at the Railway Hotel in Windsor, Melbourne, on World Whiskey Day. Attendees can join Fletcher for more stories of the distillery, and a Q & A about Jack over light canapés and a tasting of Jack Daniel’s portfolio.
You can RSVP to all these events here.
Fletcher is the master distiller and director at the Jack Daniel Distillery. He is only one of a few individuals to have ever held the title of ‘Master Distiller’ in Jack Daniel’s 157-year history of production. Fletcher began his career as a tour guide for the company before exploring the complete knowledge of whisky production of milling, mashing, fermenting, distillation, mellowing and maturation.
He was taught his skills by his grandfather, the late Master Distiller Frank Bobo, who he refers to as a mentor. Fletcher grew up around the distillery and remembers his first memory of the distillery of watching his grandfather make sour mash and operate the stills.
Fletcher will be answering questions about his career, the new whisky and everything Jack Daniel’s along the tour.
