A Fuse of Modern Yum Cha & Fusion High Tea
On Sunday 24th November I was invited by the team at Sun Kitchen, Executive Chef Chan Kwok and Chef Jo Ward from Gault & Millau (Pastry Chef of the Year 2018), to enjoy a contemporary Chinese High Tea concept. This “East Meet West” culinary partnership has created the newest fashionista-foodie experience, never seen before in Melbourne.
This November on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon Melbournian’s had the chance to explore these two award-winning chefs’ creative approach to their traditional favourites. Savour a delicate selection of Chef Chan’s modern yum cha that will tickle your taste buds, before you venture into a whimsical medley of Chef Ward’s fusion desserts, crowned by an edible black swan, made of milk chocolate & charcoal – a tribute to the black swans that call Albert Park home.
The Savoury and Sweet collaboration combined decadent and creative oriental canapes with delicious desserts, showing off the incredible culinary skills and artistic flair that makes both Chefs masters in the world of food.
A bottomless flow of sparkling wine accompanied the exquisite High Tea allowing myself and guest to soak in the warmth of the gentle spring sunshine on the outdoor deck, nestled in the picturesque nature of Albert Park Lake. Look out for our neighbours as this season’s baby goslings are bound to melt your heart.
