Sarah Jessica Parker and the city of ‘Melbourne’.

Sarah Jessica Parker arrives Tuesday 22nd October to Melbourne’s Crown Palladium as Business Chicks plays host to the ‘Sex and the City’ star and 1000 well-dressed women and a handful of very brave men. Her name and catalogue of work needs no introduction. She will forever be known to us as her alter ego Carrie Bradshaw. The name that catapulted her to another level of stardom.

Even though SJ as she likes to be called, stared in many a film prior it was the show Sex & the City that became a cultural phenomenon. Still today it is talked about and is still one of the most revered shows of the modern age.

It was a privilege to be amongst the crowd of eager fans watching our idol and shoe queen talk about her life, business and being a working parent. Fifi Box’s Q&A with SJ allowed us to learn about her transition into movies, perfume lines, clothing, shoes and publishing. This has given this entrepreneurial woman a continued zest for learning and expansion.

Sarah touched on how in depth she gets in the businesses she is involved in and how passion is important when starting a business. One thing that struck me was how incredibly humble and grounded she was. Recognising that it is the everyday mother and professional that is working hard, feeding her family and making ends meet that she looks on as inspiring, not so much herself.

SJ has such a care and empathy for the cultural and economic issues that are around us as women, she described this in detail. For a moment it didn’t feel like we were at a professional breakfast but on the sofa chatting to a wise and ‘mentor like’ big sister.  She had this beautiful energy that was felt across the room. Sarah shy’s away from her accolades and instead turns to gratitude and empowerment for women all over. What was there not to love about our “Carrie”. The room was silent as all eyes were on the woman of the moment.

Sarah described her early years and how money and material things were scarce sometimes, this giving her a great work ethic and appreciation for her humble beginnings.

Sarah was very real. A woman whom has not only forged a path of many facets but is using this #MeToo movement to re-educate and empower others. She explains that it is still in the early stages and this shift will create more cultural change in the future.

Sarah spoke of her new SJP shoe collection line, now available in David Jones stores across Australia. It was 5 years in the making but she finally teamed up with the right people at the right time. How fitting, of course, our girl ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ was going to create a shoe line. It would be wrong not to.

It was an amazing morning sitting in the same room as this phenomenal woman. A little Sex & The City on our doorstep. A definite pinch me moment. From the glitz and stilettos to working mum of three she touched on all areas. Today I took away with me a great insight into her life, her ups and downs like all businesswomen and working mothers. Most of all, being authentic which is what she is.

Wednesday 23rd October SJ arrives to Melbourne’s Highpoint Shopping centre with another excited crowd awaiting to draw from her every word and find out more about this iconic woman. Today the Hollywood actress and entrepreneur, took to the stage as a special guest of Chemist Warehouse, to celebrate the success of her highly popular fragrance collection with host Jo Stanley.

Sarah Jessica Parker treated fans with an on-stage and in-depth Q & A with our much-loved Melbourne radio host and TV personality, discussing all things Sex and the City, fashion, beauty and of course fragrance.

That’s is why we love Sarah Jessica Parker…. Now I think it’s time to buy a new pair of shoes………
