PINK. Melbourne’s newest restaurant hits Swanston Street and it’s set to serve more than amazing Italian Cuisine

A new dining experience has opened in Melbourne and everything from the interior design through to the menu selection is dedicated to the promotion of self-love and healthy eating. Conceptualised by Darren Male, this contemporary dining experience is one that has warmed our hearts and filled our bellies.

PINK – A hidden urban escape, is an experience that starts as your walk up the staircase to level 1 at 157 Swanston Street Melbourne. The moment your foot hits the last step you are instantly transported to a PINK universe that depicts all the glory of Art Deco interior design. A stunning soft grey-green marble bar, the only feature in colour contrast to every other PINK design element within the space plays home to the extremely generous and entertaining staff members. The overall feeling is as though one has been transported to a dream state that is reminiscent of South Beach Miami.

So why PINK? In discussion with Darren at the launch, he expressed the importance of creating a space for people to be able to capture beautiful imagery of themselves for social media in order to celebrate their own beauty. Colour psychology suggests that different colours can have an impact on our moods, feelings, and even behaviours. The colour pink is thought to be a calming colour associated with love, kindness, and unconditional acceptance. Pink is the combination of red and white, pink contains the need for action of red, helping it to achieve the potential for success and insight offered by white. It is the passion and power of red softened with the purity, openness and completeness of white. The deeper the pink, the more passion and energy it exhibits.

The venue has been designed to offer each guest multiple photographical opportunities from the PINK flower wall within the dinning space to the upstairs selfie studio, where you will find the self-love murals ready for you to jump in front of and get snap happy with. PINK will even donate $2 in support of women’s mental health with @Liptember if you post your image and #frompinktoyou.

Once the exploration and visual experience had come to an end, we were excited to hear about the menu which reads, Ciao! and welcome to PINK. The only healthy Italian Restaurant where wholesome food meets authentic self-love. It’s slice to meet you ☺. It was delightful to see an innovation within the Italian restaurant scene, everything on the menu was vegetarian and or vegan. So not only does PINK offer us an escape from our anxious urban lifestyle to an aesthetically angelic oasis, PINK is also a place where all life is valued and sacred. I personally would recommend the Garden of Vegan Pizza; tomato base topped with spinach, broccolini, cherry tomatoes, chargrilled eggplant, roast peppers, pumpkin, mushroom and garlic.

Open from lunchtime until late you can find PINK on Level 1/157 Swanston St, Melbourne.
