It is that time of the year and the countdown is on with only a few sleeps until Christmas Day. So, Melbourne My Style has put together some fabulous Festive Season looks to make it easier for you to Style around the festive season. The weather is usually warm or as we know in Melbourne can change at any given moment, so make sure you have a jacket or something you can layer should it cool down in the evening. Some people go from day events to evening so having a change of clothes if necessary, in your car wouldn’t go astray, especially for the younger members of the family.
For the ladies make sure to pack in your bag/pouch, lipstick, deodorant, a small bottle of perfume, earrings, and powder/blush, these simple little extra things will keep you fresh throughout the day and can do the trick to get you by.
Did I mention a spare pair of shoes in the car! SO IMPORTANT! Stilettos may not go well with your day-to-day functions however the evening can be a different story. Try and plan. Know what kind of location it is. Is it a cocktail party or a sit-down dinner? Changing shoes can make the outfit indeed. Match wisely. Low heel for the day and high heel for night. It is a busy time and most of us are run off our feet during this time.
Women can frock up in some beautiful colourful dresses and one-piece suits. You can go from A to B with one simple outfit. It may just be a case of changing your accessories. As you decorate your homes with Christmas cheers don’t go overboard with putting too much on yourself. Less is more and in the summer heat, this rings truer. Lighter makeup without the heavy dark colours is a better choice. Shimmer, bronzers, and lip glosses are great ways to look sun-kissed and well made up. It is part of the package of looking chic and stylish as you style yourself for the festive season.
For the boys keep it simple and smart. Smart casual need not be confusing, it simply bridges the gap between formal and casual. Go for simple basic T-Shirts in block colours and keep it monochromatic if wanting a smarter look. Leave the bright and print colours for New Year’s Eve.
Enjoy the Christmas countdown and keep looking fabulous!
