If you are a flower and garden enthusiast then the Melbourne Flower and Garden show was not to be missed. Over 91,000 green thumbs and floral fanatics attended this exhibition during March. As I entered Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building, autumn well and truly came alive in the most magical way with an explosion of colour and breathtaking floral displays. This prestigious exhibition in Melbourne is one to be enjoyed by the young and old with something to delight everyone.
Flowers Victoria Wedding Table
This was a first for ‘Flowers Victoria’ to display at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show, where twenty of Melbourne’s finest florists were chosen to show their stunning styling techniques in wedding table arrangements. A rectangular 180 metre long table was used to showcase spectacular centre pieces and décor displays.
RMIT Students fuse Fashion, Flower & Fauna
A selected group of students from Melbourne’s RMIT showcased their designs infusing flower and fauna into contemporary fashion designs. Beautiful blooms and foliage were used to create a unique couture piece. For those that love fashion like myself, this was definitely a highlight of the exhibition seeing creativity and artistic flair come to light using different materials in a new way for fashion design.
RMIT Interior Design
A selection of the most talented Australian and International landscape designers showcased designs including modern and emerging trends, a Chinese garden from group Orisis, a mindfulness inspired garden designed for ‘Beyond Blue’ by Christian Jenkins and plenty of native gardens reflecting Australiana style. Floral designers provided us with masterclasses in floral display and the ‘Cubby House Challenge’ was enjoyed by the children which included many fun activities.
