Dannii Minogue Has Everyone Singing Along to Dirty Dirty Disco at The Langham’s Derby Day Eve Luncheon

The Langham Melbourne Derby Day Eve Luncheon

The Langham Melbourne marked 13 years of its celebrated Derby Day Eve luncheon, with Dannii Minogue among the guests and a special milestone for André Jacques.

Dannii Minogue was the name on everyone’s lips at The Langham Melbourne’s Derby Day Eve luncheon, where the singer joined a room of familiar faces for one of the most anticipated events ahead of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

While the afternoon was all about fashion, fine dining, and catching up with friends, Dannii’s music had everyone singing along. When the DJ played Dirty Dirty Disco, her collaboration with Rogue Traders, the room joined in, giving the usually elegant affair a lively twist.

Now in its 13th year, the luncheon has become a firm favourite on Melbourne’s spring racing calendar, attracting media, fashion and entertainment personalities alongside The Langham’s longstanding partners.

This year’s gathering was particularly significant for André Jacques, who marked ten years in his role at The Langham Melbourne. Welcoming guests, André thanked those who have supported the event over the years, including Dannii, who received a special mention.

With Derby Day in full swing, the black-and-white dress code was in full effect. Guests arrived in everything from beautifully cut suits to elegant dresses and statement millinery, proving once again that monochrome dressing can be anything but predictable.

The guest list included Chyka Keebaugh, Shaynna Blaze, Lisa Barron, and Stella Klim, and Damien Woolnough, the newly appointed CEO of Australian Fashion Week, was also among the attendees.

Paul Versace, recently appointed as The Langham Melbourne’s stylist, joined the celebrations, adding another familiar name from Melbourne and Sydney’s fashion scene.

Over a three-course lunch, guests caught up with friends, exchanged racing-week plans, and enjoyed the hospitality The Langham is known for.

Part of the luncheon’s appeal is the mix of people it brings together. Regular guests have attended for years, new faces fill the tables, and conversation flows freely.
