2026 TV WEEK Logies: Style, Stars and 70 Years of Australian Television

The 66th TV WEEK Logie Awards celebrated 70 years of Australian television with glamour, nostalgia and plenty of unscripted laughs.

It was a true-blue Aussie Logies—crikey, mate—with lizards, snakes and the charismatic Robert Irwin leading the way.

The red carpet

Black, bronze, silver and soft metallics dominated the carpet, alongside powder blue, teal, blush pink and animal print. Sequins, lace, sculptural draping, statement tailoring and classic black tie shaped the night.

Samantha Armytage captured the mood in a bronze-sequinned halterneck jumpsuit, Carrie Bickmore embraced animal print and Amanda Keller stood out in powder-blue tailoring. Andy Lee kept it sharp in black tie alongside Rebecca Harding in silver.

For me, Sophie Monk takes out Best Dressed. Her black lace corset gown with dramatic satin draping was elegant, structured and pure red-carpet glamour.

Melbourne’s Georgia Love embraced Old Hollywood glamour, styled by Paul Versace.

“We wanted to do something that was that Old Hollywood glamour but still keeping it chic. Sam from Oglialoro Couture absolutely nailed it. We also had James from Temelli custom make diamonds for the look,” Paul said.

Robert Irwin, the host with the most

Robert Irwin traded his signature khakis for a contemporary black tuxedo and was all over the night. He even joined Peking Duk on stage, dancing to the beat as they performed. His energy was infectious—it’s no wonder America has embraced our Robert.

Flavio Scotece of Couture Menswear shared the inspiration behind his custom look.

“For Robert Irwin’s 2026 Logies look, the inspiration was Robert himself and the man he has become.

“We wanted to move beyond the boy Australia grew up watching and create something that reflected the confident, accomplished public figure he is today.

“A black tuxedo felt timeless and sophisticated, but we gave it a distinctly modern twist through a completely new Couture Menswear design.

“We dress him for many of his public events but this had to be something new for us and him! We are so proud of what we created for him.”

Robert also took home the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter. He thanked his mother Terri, sister Bindi, brother-in-law Chandler Powell and niece Grace, along with everyone at Australia Zoo, while honouring the legacy of his late father, Steve Irwin.

The moments you could not script

Robert took a snake over to Sam Pang’s table, prompting Sam to joke about being bitten and Robert being sued.

Robert then returned with an even larger python. With its head resting in Amanda Keller’s crotch, Sam noted that it was looking straight at her. Only at the Logies.

Sophie Monk and Shane Jacobson clearly ad-libbed their way through the autocue, while Julia Morris appeared with Eddie McGuire and joked that it was her 75th Logies and she could not read the autocue at all. Joke, no joke? With Julia, who knows?

The wins

Ally Langdon was named Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter, while one of my favourite shows, MasterChef Australia, won Best Competition Reality Program.

The Australian Open on Channel Nine took home Best Sports Coverage—and no surprises there. It is the best event of every Australian summer. Todd Woodbridge and Dylan Alcott accepted the award.

Sam Pang was named television’s Most Popular Personality, taking home the Gold Logie from Magda Szubanski.

Sam said it was an honour to be presented the award by Magda, whom he called comic royalty. After all she has been through, it was a lovely surprise to see her there.

He also spoke about the unpredictability of Logies night—you never quite know if you’ll end up having to get up and make a speech.

Hall of Fame honours

Deborah Mailman was inducted into the TV WEEK Logies Hall of Fame, with Cate Blanchett describing her as a trailblazer and recognising how deserving she was of the honour.

Andrew Denton was also inducted, with James Packer congratulating him and joking that if he had been there, he would have sat on Andrew’s lap.

The 2026 TV WEEK Logies brought together style, history, humour and the personalities who have made Australian television part of our lives for 70 years.
