Chadstone Lights Up Melbourne Winter With New ‘Light to Night’ Festival Featuring RONE, Luxury Dining & Live Music.

Melbourne winters are about to get a major glow-up at CHADSTONE

Chadstone Shopping Centre has announced Light to Night — a bold new month-long festival transforming the iconic destination into a hub of immersive art, luxury dining, live music, and after-dark experiences.

Launching June 11 and running through to July 12, the inaugural festival signals Chadstone’s evolution beyond shopping, positioning itself as Melbourne’s emerging “second city” for culture, entertainment, and lifestyle.

Leading the program is acclaimed Australian artist RONE with HOME — an immersive installation transforming a retail space into a hauntingly beautiful Australian weatherboard house, blending nostalgia, decay and striking visual storytelling.

Food lovers can expect one of the season’s most exclusive culinary events as Chadstone teams up with Melbourne Food and Wine Festival for the World’s Longest Dinner — a glamorous one-night-only experience featuring 400 guests seated along a spectacular shared table beneath Chadstone’s iconic gridshell roof.

The festival will also showcase Through the Looking Glass, a mesmerising large-scale light sculpture by rising Australian artist Dean Norton in collaboration with Studio John Fish, creating dazzling reflections and immersive light play throughout the luxury precinct.

As the sun goes down, Light to Night shifts gears with live music performances, intimate foodie experiences inside The Market Pavilion, wellness workshops from Kaya Health Club and a high-energy Hype Night takeover at Hijinx Hotel.

Families haven’t been forgotten either, with a dedicated school holiday program inspired by RONE’s exhibition, encouraging creativity and hands-on interactive experiences for kids.

Mardi Ashkine, Head of Brand and Marketing at Chadstone described the festival as a “statement of intent” for the destination.

“We’re creating a festival that feels unmistakably Melbourne, while showcasing Chadstone as a cultural destination in its own right,” she said.

This winter, Chadstone isn’t just a shopping destination — it’s becoming Melbourne’s newest cultural playground after dark.
