On Wednesday, May 7th, the iconic Collins Street store buzzed with excitement as Tissot hosted a heart-warming event celebrating Mother’s Day alongside their esteemed brand ambassador, Basketball Royalty Lauren Jackson. Invited guests including Sharon Johal, Brodie Harper, Mikayla Crisp and Emma Hawkins, gathered to celebrate motherhood.
The morning breakfast soiree featured an engaging Q&A session led by RUSSH journalist Alyssa Kostopoulos, who skilfully navigated a conversation that resonated deeply with everyone present. Lauren, who shared that this year’s Mother’s Day is particularly special as it coincides with her birthday, spoke candidly about the significance of this dual celebration. “My mother is my best friend, my mentor, and someone I can always turn to,” she expressed, emphasising the importance of honouring maternal figures on this cherished day. As a mother herself, Lauren reflected on the joy of being able to celebrate Mother’s Day with her sons, creating new memories while cherishing the old.
Throughout her career, Lauren has travelled extensively for training and competitions, but she poignantly noted the irreplaceable moments she treasures with her children. “When I come home, I get to stop and recharge with my kids,” she shared. “Though these moments are rare and brief, they are incredibly important to me.” This sentiment struck a chord with many guests, encapsulating the essence of motherhood: love, sacrifice, and joy.
