Jamie Foxx Steals the Spotlight as Special Guest of Don Julio.

Hollywood met the Birdcage on Melbourne Cup Day as Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx brought his superstar charisma to Flemington, turning the Don Julio Hacienda into one of the day’s hottest destinations.

Dressed to impress in a dazzling gold Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo with contrasting black satin lapels, Foxx was impossible to miss. The Hollywood star mingled with Melbourne’s social set, danced with fashion favourites Zana Pali and Pip Edwards, and soaked up the atmosphere of Australia’s most famous race day.

As guest of honour at the exclusive Don Julio 1942 marquee, Foxx was clearly in the mood to celebrate, comparing the Melbourne Cup’s excitement and festivities to the fun of America’s Super Bowl.

Back in Melbourne for the first time since 2003, the actor and singer revealed that his whole family was in town for the occasion and spoke enthusiastically about his love for the city.

Melbourne also holds a special connection for Foxx, with his partner originally from the city.

He praised Melbourne’s hospitality and exceptional food scene, revealing that he had recently celebrated his girlfriend’s birthday at the acclaimed Maison Bâtard restaurant.

Foxx described the experience as incredible, adding to his affection for a city he clearly enjoys returning to.

Inside the Don Julio Hacienda, the guest list was equally impressive, with Pip Edwards, Zana Pali, Lily Cole, Tommy Cole, Sam Docherty, Millie Arnold and Olympic swimming champion Ariarne Titmus among those joining the celebrations.

Guests enjoyed a taste of Mexico, with award-winning Mexican-American chef Claudette Zepeda creating an exclusive five-course VIP dining experience in the Hacienda’s hidden El Secreto Bar.

The menu celebrated contemporary Mexican cuisine, complemented by Don Julio 1942 cocktails, including the bespoke Golden Gallop, classic Margaritas and refreshing Palomas.

And it seems Melbourne hasn’t seen the last of the Hollywood A-lister just yet, with Foxx expected to remain in the city until December.

From dancing with Melbourne’s fashion crowd to embracing the city’s celebrated dining scene, Jamie Foxx certainly made his presence felt, bringing Hollywood glamour to the Birdcage and proving that Melbourne Cup Day knows how to put on a celebration worthy of a superstar.
