Casa Altos Unveils Larger-Than-Life Statue of Thanasi Kokkinakis at the Australian Open!

Thanasi said, “I had seen some of the work in progress prior to the unveiling and I was happy with what I was seeing”. Thanasi, ever the good sport, humorously likened the statue to a giant piñata, quipping, “What kind of candy is inside?” His infectious enthusiasm resonated with the media, and the atmosphere at the AusOpen Altos Bar was electric, with laughter and excitement.
While the statue may have been a highlight, Thanasi also took a moment to share his feelings about not being able to compete in singles this year due to an ongoing shoulder injury. “It’s disappointing, but I’m on the path to recovery,” he assured fans, expressing his determination to return to the singles court stronger than ever. For now, he is thrilled to be teaming up with his long-time mate Nick Kyrgios in doubles, bringing his competitive spirit to the tournament in a different format.
