A Day of Glamour at the Lexus Melbourne Cup, with Pan Am, Thigh High and Queen of the Night Bodyguard Vibes.
As the sun peeked through the clouds over Flemington Racecourse, the stage was set for the 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup, a day renowned as “the race that stops the nation.” This year, the festivities were heightened at the exclusive LANDMARK by Lexus, where a parade of style and elegance unfolded trackside.

Among the glittering guests was Lexus Ambassador Kate Waterhouse, who turned heads in a stunning custom Alin Le’Kal Navy Blue ensemble. With her impeccable style, Kate showed us why she’s a fashion icon, never putting a foot wrong. Next to her, the ever-daring Friend of Lexus, Elliot Garnaut, made a bold statement in thigh-high winter boots and outfit by YSL. Only someone with his flair, as a Channel 7 Sunrise fashion commentator and celebrity stylist, could pull off such a striking look.

The Birdcage was buzzing with excitement, with vibrant fashions and colours turning our heads. Red was the dominant hue, with splashes of baby blue and buttery yellows adding a cheerful twist. Moraya Wilson, former Miss Universe Australia, captured attention in her custom Jason Grech creation that evoked the glamour of classic films, reminiscent of moments from “The Bodyguard.”

As I mingled with the stars, I had the pleasure of speaking with the Golden Bachelor, who admitted it was his first time at the Melbourne Cup. Sporting a suit that was generously lent to him, he confidently declared, “I style myself!” He also revealed that he’s found love on the show, and it seems he’s chosen wisely!

Another standout in the crowd was Kylie Rogers, the VRC CEO, who dazzled in her custom Jason Grech outfit complete with a mauve mask that added a touch of Phantom elegance. Rebecca Judd brought her own unique flair, channelling a chic “Pan Am” flight attendant vibe that was both nostalgic and stylish.

Emma Hawkins looked effortlessly elegant in a Rebecca Vallance ensemble, sharing that her original outfit had to be swapped last minute due to the unpredictable weather. Thankfully, stylist Suzy Eskander swooped in to save the day just in time!

While many guests adapted their fashion choices due to the chilly conditions, the rain held off for most of the day, allowing everyone to enjoy the festivities. The atmosphere was electric with excitement, laughter, and, of course, the thrill of racing.
Thanasi Kokkinakis added a touch of celebrity charm as he popped the official magnum of Champagne in front of the Mumm Marque, managing to stay dry and stylish, in contrast to sailor Jessica Watson, who was drowned by the popping of Champagne at the Derby.

The fashion, the people, and the atmosphere all created a magical experience that will be remembered long after the last race. Here’s to another unforgettable year at the Melbourne Cup!
