It’s time to join the QUEENDOM along with Em Rusciano, as SIX the Musical returns to Melbourne by popular demand!

It’s time to join the QUEENDOM once again, as The Tony Award-winning electrifying musical previously enjoyed across the country, returns to Melbourne after huge demand at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre until October 20.

Henry V111 King of England, six wives have reshaped the story as we know it. Beheaded, Divorced, and Catherine Parr who outlived Henry bring the stage alive with an incredible all-female cast and band.

‘A witty, pop-fuelled musical packed full of sass, SIX remixes the history of the six wives of Henry VIII – Britain’s notorious Tudor King – as they take to the microphone to re-tell their stories and reclaim their HERstories, once and for all.

In the vibrant world of “Six: The Musical,” the powerhouse cast of Queens is nothing short of extraordinary! With Kimberley Hodgson as the fierce Catherine of Aragon, Deirdre Khoo bringing sass to Anne Boleyn, and Zelia Rose Kitoko captivating as Anna of Cleves, each performer shines.

Chelsea Dawson’s portrayal of Katherine Howard dazzles with youthful exuberance, while Giorgia Kennedy’s Catherine Parr offers a stunning depth. Yet, amongst this sea of talent, Loren Hunter, who originally played Jane Seymour in the Australian cast, truly steals the spotlight! Her voice resonates with a haunting beauty that lingers long after the curtain falls. Hunter’s performance is a breathtaking experience, weaving emotion and power into every note, making her an unforgettable presence in this already remarkable ensemble!

The show begins with a bang, the incredible costumes that instantly capture my attention along with lighting, music, and most incredible vocals, as the Queens set out to upstage one another and reclaim their crowns.

Each Queen signifies her own unique journey filled with triumphs and tragedies. Their stories are not just tales of heartbreak; they’re powerful narratives of resilience and strength. As they navigate the complexities of their fates, these women come to a profound realisation: tearing each other down serves no purpose. Instead, they find solace in unity, transforming their bitter pasts into a vibrant celebration of sisterhood. The electrifying chemistry among the cast members is palpable, as they harmonize their voices and experiences, reminding audiences that even in the face of adversity, there is beauty in collaboration and empowerment

Joining the SIX Australian Queens are the extremely talented swings made up of Gabriella Boumford and Thalia Smith, Dance Captain Chiara Assetta, and Resident Choreographer/Alternate Swing Cristina D’Agostino.

This cleverly adapted modern musical is a thrilling fast-paced ride over 75 minutes that proves all of the women are equally important in their own right and we see them all-embracing one another with a heartfelt and uplifting end.

As a huge fan of the Tudor history, this show is sassy, fun, and incredibly energetic. The all-female band was powerful, and the songs were very cleverly written to tell this story. This production is a 10/10 from start to finish!
