Homelessness Week 2024 – Merry People X Bridge It – On a mission to ‘Give Homelessness The Boot’.

Homelessness Week 2024: Giving Homelessness the Boot

As we discuss Homelessness Week 2024, running from August 5 to 11, the urgency to address homelessness in our communities has never been more critical. This year, Merry People is stepping up to make a difference through an inspiring collaboration with Bridge It, focused on empowering young women aged 17-21 who are experiencing homelessness. Together, they are on a mission to “Give Homelessness the Boot,” and you can be part of this transformative journey.

In Australia, around 122,000 individuals experience homelessness on any given night, with young people constituting a staggering 24% of that number. Young women often face significant challenges, especially when transitioning from residential and foster care to independent living.

‘Bridge It is helping to provide a safe home to young women at risk of homelessness through its housing program, The Cocoon.’

Introducing the Bobbi Boot

To raise awareness and funds for this important cause, Merry People has unveiled the brand new Bobbi Boot. This stylish and functional boot features a deep shade of green rubber outer, elegantly contrasted by pops of coral red on the pull tabs, brand tag, and butterfly logo. Each pair of Bobbi Boots sold contributes directly to the Cocoon initiative, bridging the critical gap for young women transitioning out of care.

By simply investing in this unique footwear, you’re helping to create pathways to independence for young women facing homelessness.

As we celebrate Homelessness Week 2024, let’s reflect on the power of community, compassion, and collaboration. Join Merry People and Bridge It in their mission to empower young women experiencing homelessness. Together, we can build a brighter future, one boot at a time.

This week, let’s raise awareness, inspire action, and give Homelessness the Boot!
