Sharon Johal, the stunning star of the long-running television soap opera Neighbours, is no stranger to the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry. As they prepared for the prestigious 63rd Logie Awards, Sharon took us behind the scenes to give us a glimpse into her preparations for the big night.
Sharon this is your first Logie Awards with your husband Ankur. How does it feel to have him with you tonight?
“I am so excited to be here with Ank’s, he’s my best friend and we have the best time together and I’m just looking forward to celebrating the industry tonight with him and having a really good time. This is my third Logies and the first one for Ank’s, I’m really looking forward to these Logies in Sydney as I really love the vibe and the energy of Sydney.”
One of the most exciting aspects of any awards show is undoubtedly the fashion. Sharon has always been a style icon, known for her elegant and glamorous choices on the red carpet. For the Logie Awards, she chose to collaborate with renowned Australian designer Mariam Seddiq, who is famous for her exquisite and unique creations.
Sharon says, “Tonight I’m wearing a Mariam Seddiq special. It’s no secret that she’s one of my favourite designers, she designs for women and all women! We’ve chosen a very cool sleek and sexy vibe, which is a mini with pockets with a big long white cape, because there is no Sharon without the drama!” (Laughs Sharon) Sharon also wears earrings by Mariam Seddiq and a clutch by Katherine Land. Sharon’s shoes are by ROZALIA X Billini.
Sharon adds, “My hair tonight is by Kaatya May Hair of ‘Natalie Anne Hair’, we’ve gone for a cool snatched look because the dress is quite magnificent on its own and my makeup is by Chantelle Baker.”
Mariam Seddiq’s designs are known for their intricate details and avant-garde silhouettes. Sharon, with her innate sense of style, perfectly complements the designer’s aesthetic. Together, they are creating a fashion moment that will undoubtedly be talked about for years to come.
Mariam says, “We wanted something young and over the top to compliment her personality. The white we have chosen for this occasion will make Sharon pop with her complexion.”
As Sharon gets ready for the Logie Awards, we joined her in her room at the STAR in Sydney, where she tries on a stunning gown designed by Mariam Seddiq.
