Fernando Alonso arrived in Melbourne last week competing for Formula One team Alpine.
The veteran double world champion was initially expecting to finish in the top 3, however, suffered a costly crash in the qualifying race on Saturday. The crash was contributed to a hydraulics mechanical failure rather than a driver error.
Luxury audio brand Bang & Olufsen also hosted global ambassador Fernando Alonso while in town to open their new Australian flagship store on Church Street in Richmond.
Sharing a passion for music and excellence, Fernando Alonso and Bang & Olufsen kicked off their collaboration in 2020 with a limited-edition collection, including Beoplay E8 Sport earphones and a Beosound Edge home speaker, and Alonso continues to be a proud ambassador.
“ I have always used music as a training companion for maximum performance and when I mentally prepare for a race. Music helps me balance my frame of mind before getting into the car, whilst building adrenaline for the challenge ahead,” says Fernando Alonso.
The launch celebrations also saw the auctioning of a limited edition Beoplay A9 Race of Champions, which raised AUD$17,000 as a donation to the Australian Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. This limited edition is the only piece in all of Asia Pacific, with only fifty-four pieces made available for sale worldwide.
Visitors to the flagship store will have the opportunity to experience the Connected Speakers’ unparalleled studio-grade sound that adjusts to the room and listener’s position to ensure flawless audio quality. Built-in Wi-Fi music streaming allows the possibility to play anything instantly, while an integrated user interface gives complete touch control from any one of the multiple curated spaces within the showroom.
“We are so excited to be launching the Bang & Olufsen flagship in Richmond, one of the most innovative localities in the world. The design thinking and investment into creating a climate-adapted city is well aligned with Bang & Olufsen’s values” said Arnaud De Schuytter, President of Bang & Olufsen Asia Pacific. “The showroom allows for true sensory experiences, where customers are able to engage with the Connected Speakers through unique and interactive displays and immerse themselves in Bang & Olufsen’s superior sound”.
Fernando may have finished in 17th position in the Australian Heineken Grand Prix, however, it’s early days for the Formula One season ahead. Asked for his feelings afterwards, he said: “Speechless, to be honest.
“It’s hard to accept that everything is going in the wrong way at the moment. But it’s only three races in the championship, still 20 to go.” https://au.motorsport.com/f1/news/alonso-left-speechless-by-yet-more-bad-luck-at-australian-gp/9772088/
We would like to wish this world champion much luck and success for the rest of the season.
