Eggholic has dropped in Melbourne with a sandwich that is sure to tantalise the tastebuds, with a creative take on traditional scrambled eggs and bacon! This traditional Korean breakfast is Melbourne’s newest sensation and is sure to become addictive!
When Eggholic opened during “lockdown number three” we did not know what to expect. And then the lines out the door started.
The flagship store is situated in the famous, Sky One Tower with its billion-dollar price tag.
Egg brioche sandwiches are a huge trend in Korea, and everyone was waiting for this to open in Australia. There has been a huge interest in Korean culture in the last few years, not just in food, but in film, fashion, and skincare. The timing for Eggholic was perfect, to launch this new concept with a Melbourne twist (like the Smashed Avo Boom Sandwich, which is a nod to Australian brunch culture).
Eggholic is the first to specialise solely on Korean Brioche Sandwiches in Melbourne and we’ve got fancy fusion fillings such as crab meat and bulgogi (topped with a sliced boiled egg). Everything is made to order so it’s fresh and our egg is the fluffiest around. It’s similar to a scramble but with a hint of sweetness and fluffier, which pairs so well with our fluffy brioche bread.
Our bread is baked fresh every day, so we often sell out before the end of the day. Eggholic Street Food has also launched, with Korean dogs, fried chicken, japache, tteokbokki, and street snacks.
Suddenly, bloggers all around Australia started reposting pictures of the iconic breakfast dish, egg, and bacon brioche bun. And well, as they say, the rest is history
Two new Eggholic stores are opening in November and five new stores are slated for 2022.
