The Power of Fashion – ‘MET GALA’ 2021.

The Power of ‘The Met Gala’ was true to form, as it returned with this year’s dress code “American Independence,” themed to coincide with ‘The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Arts’ latest exhibition, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” https://www.metmuseum.org/exhibitions/listings/2021/in-america

The Met Gala is always a time to showcase directional fashion through a designer’s creativity, and for a celebrity to show self-expression within the theme, correlating to the exhibition.

Red Carpet arrivals this year didn’t disappoint, with Fashion Houses around the globe showing off the designer’s imagination, in the most powerful form. The world’s most luxurious labels were on show, on the biggest names, at one of the most televised international events. Once again some played it safe, and others such as Kim Kardashian strived to be the most talked about in town, making sure she got the clickbait!

Kim’s sister Kendall Jenner was also out to grab attention in a seductive sheer/bejewelled Givenchy gown, that left little to the imagination. The gown paid tribute to “My Fair Lady’’ star, Audrey Hepburn.

American singer Billie Eilish transformed into Cinderella for the evening, wearing the label ‘Oscar de la Renta’ created by Fernando Garcia.

Jennifer Lopez set the red carpet on fire channeling a super sexy cowgirl look with a low-cut gown by Ralph Lauren.

American Rapper Montero Lamar Hill also known as Lil Nas X, arrived in a custom-designed regal cape by the house of Versace. He then shed down to reveal a gold suit of armour, followed by a crystal-covered signature Versace bodysuit.
