Spring/Summer 2019 shifts to Romantic and Utilitatian, Basic and Bold as the fashion world finds salvation and fuses the trends together bringing something for everyone.
For the romantic we see lots of pink hues, soft florals and ruffles. Polkadots make the season fun and frivolous and pastel tones are set to be worn head to toe.
The neutral palette is popular, linens, khaki and the use of natural fibres master a timeless look this season. Block colours with pinstripes and checks that clash are also popular to bring a standout statement look.
We see lots of separates for the men, giving them different options when stepping away from the classic suit. It’s an exciting time for the boys, who are stepping out of the norm and using separates to mesh together killer looks by adding exciting accessories such as silk scarfs tied at the neck, tote bags, chunky sneakers with hats or caps.
Senior Stylist for the runway Anika Walker styled a variety of looks and unique ways for us to make these key season trends our own incorporating millinery pieces for Spring Racing with show stopping pieces by Melissa Jackson and Felicity Northeast Millinery.
The event was hosted by Annette Alison with guest speakers including, Designer Jacqui Fernandes, Adam Tsen and Karlie Crow on behalf of Feathers and Melissa Jackson artist and owner of Melissa Jackson Millinery.
