If an Astin Martin DB5 was a man, he would be dressed by Azzaro.
“You’ll be using this Aston Martin DB5”. James Bond, 1964.
Do you remember Goldfinger in 1964 starring Sean Connery as the ruggedly handsome James Bond?
Goldfinger is my personal favourite Bond Film. My reasoning is of course due to Sean Connery. It is his effortless style, suave demeanour and traditional masculine charm that allures, all packaged up by impeccable tailoring.
The real hero of James Bonds successful masculine style is the exquisite dressing of Bond. It is the unfaltering attention to detail that is synonymous with the franchise, and men across the globe have been trying to emulate these qualities for the past seventy years.
Luciano and Jane Azzaro can make your man as stylish as Sean is as he gets out of his Aston Martin DB5 in 1964’s Goldfinger.
Established in 1981, the Azzaro boutique can be found at 423 Clarendon Street Melbourne. As you open the door and step over the threshold you will be transported back in time and across the seas to what feels like a moment within the film itself.
Azzaro reminds me of the famous Biblioteca Vallicielliana in Roma. Just like the library, Azzaro stock stories. Each story is a collection of garments that have been hand selected by Luciano. These stories are curated in store for Azzaro clients, offering them the opportunity to build an entire wardrobe which incorporates style for almost any occasion. Boasting everything from designer denim, unique luxury designer pieces and fully tailored suiting. The common theme across all collections is the attention to providing the highest quality in fit, fabrication composition, the incorporation of contemporary trend, whilst paying homage to traditional silhouette and permanent style codes.
As we head steadfast into the fashion winter season, for 2019 in Melbourne, the fashion community are gearing up to spend a dime on all things retro. Current menswear trends are reflecting back on those time-honoured style codes of days past, specifically from the 1960s. Doubled breasted topcoats and shorter tailored jackets will be worn in traditional mid-weight wools in bright colours that have been tinted to lighten their original hue.
Azzaro offers a personalised experience to all who walk through their doors. As the Senior Fashion Editor at Melbourne My Style, it is my job to know who can help you obtain the highest quality garments that are responding to contemporary industry trends.
If you want the husky traditional swagger of Bond whilst also being on the cutting edge of contemporary trends through, colour, fibre, fit and style.
