Melbourne’s Derby Day A-List for Don Julio After Dark with Tinie Tempah.
It was the invitation everyone wanted on Derby Day. Don Julio After Dark took over The Beverly for an exclusive, invitation-only rooftop party, bringing together a carefully curated guest list of celebrities, sporting stars and influential names from Melbourne’s social and media circles.
The A-listers arrived one by one, with Collingwood favourites Josh and Nick Daicos turning heads as they entered the private celebration. Bec Judd, Nadia Bartel, Pip Edwards, Lana Wilkinson, Tammy Hembrow, Francesca Cumani, Effie Kats and Nic Naitanui were also among those invited to the intimate gathering.
Perched 24 floors above Melbourne, The Beverly provided a spectacular setting away from the crowds at Flemington. With panoramic city views, Don Julio 1942 being poured and an impressive selection of canapés circulating, guests settled in for a night reserved for a select few.
As the sun began to set, ARIA-nominated DJ KLP led a special toast with Don Julio 1942 Royale, before the evening’s biggest surprise took centre stage.
British rapper Tinie Tempah delivered an exclusive hour-long performance, treating the intimate crowd to hits including Pass Out, Miami 2 Ibiza and Written in the Stars. It was the kind of performance usually reserved for a much bigger audience, making the experience all the more special for those lucky enough to be there.
The tequila was flowing throughout the evening, with Don Julio 1942 taking centre stage alongside signature cocktails including the Double the Don, made with Don Julio Blanco and Reposado, passionfruit, lemon and sweet basil. Margaritas and Palomas were also served.
Guests were treated to a selection of canapés including spicy tuna tostadas, Pacific oysters with watermelon ponzu and yuzu pearls, black truffle mac ’n’ cheese croquettes and wagyu sliders with jalapeño jack cheese, followed by tiramisu lollipops.
With an invitation-only guest list, premium tequila and a private performance by Tinie Tempah, Don Julio After Dark delivered the kind of Derby Day experience money couldn’t simply buy.
