In an exhilarating reveal today, the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) showcased the reimagined Birdcage Enclosure, setting the stage for an unforgettable 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival. Known for its opulence and vibrant atmosphere, the Birdcage is not just a space; it’s an experience that encapsulates the essence of Australia’s most prestigious horse racing event.

Each spring, Flemington transforms into a bustling hub of excitement, the Birdcage will again become a focal point of Cup Week festivities, due to the premier partners and esteemed guests. Among the highlights is VRC’s Principal Partner, Lexus, which unveiled its spectacular LANDMARK Lexus marquee.

Joining Lexus in the Birdcage this year are other prominent sponsors, including Crown, TAB, G.H. Mumm, Nine, and Don Julio. Adding to the excitement is Kirin Ichiban, a first-time Carnival partner, whose involvement will undoubtedly enhance the experience for guests seeking new tastes and experiences.

Rebecca Judd welcomed media into the Crown Marquee, might I say one of the most opulent.
Bec said, “this is our 3-metre champagne crystal tower complete with 500 crystal coups, it’s spectacular and set’s the scene for the party atmosphere here in Crown.

Eddie McGuire welcomed us to take a look at the Channel 9 marquee, he spoke of his excitement for the 165th Melbourne Cup with coverage by Lexus on Channel 9.

Billy Slater was on horseback outside the 9 marquee and says his excited to share the raw emotion once again with the jockeys. Billy said, “some of the biggest races of their carers take place on this track, and I get to speak to them only moments after they win those races. To bring that raw emotion to the people and the ones at home in the lounge room, I take great pride in.”

This year also marks the debut of ‘Marmont’ by Grant Smillie, offering a unique blend of culinary delight and vibrant atmosphere within the Birdcage. Described as an alfresco desert dream, ‘Marmont’ brings the essence of summer to life, complete with delectable cocktails and electrifying music spun by top DJs. Grant Smillie himself expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am so excited! It’s like we have a mini pop-up restaurant for four days in the most incredible precinct. We sold out so quickly, and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and just having fun.”

The 2025 Birdcage Enclosure will showcase bespoke spaces designed to highlight exceptional hospitality and immersive entertainment. Each partner will present unique offerings that not only elevate the racing experience but also create lasting memories for all who attend.

As the countdown to the 2025 Melbourne Cup Carnival begins, anticipation is building for what promises to be an extraordinary celebration of racing, fashion, and entertainment.
