Langham Hotels Set to Soar: Aiming for 100 Hotels by 2040!

Excitement is in the air at Langham Hotels and Resorts as they unveil ambitious plans to expand their global footprint, targeting an impressive milestone of 100 hotels by the year 2040. This bold goal was recently highlighted at a VIP breakfast event at The Langham Melbourne, where industry leaders and media gathered to learn about the future of this iconic brand.

Jeffrey van Vorsselen, Managing Director of Langham Melbourne and Regional Vice President of Operations for the Pacific and Southeast Asia, shared his passionate vision for the brand. “We don’t franchise Langham and I say we never will,” he affirmed, emphasising the brand’s commitment to maintaining a personal touch and exceptional service. Jeffrey’s recent experience in Chicago exemplifies this ethos perfectly. During his stay, he inquired about the best running routes, and instead of merely offering suggestions, a hotel staff member extended a warm invitation to join him for a guided run through the city. This thoughtful gesture transformed a simple morning jog into an unforgettable adventure, showcasing how Langham Hotels go above and beyond for their guests.

The VIP breakfast event, held in The Langham Melbourne’s luxurious Club Lounge, brought together influential figures from Melbourne’s media landscape, including Jackie Epstein from the Herald Sun and Sarah Gale, Managing Director of AMPR Group. The attendees were eager to learn about Langham’s upcoming openings in exciting destinations, including Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur in 2026, and The Langham, Venice in early 2027. With plans for further expansions in Riyadh and Tokyo, the future looks bright for Langham Hotels.

Jeffrey van Vorsselen reiterated the brand’s dedication to creating personable experiences for clients, mirroring the remarkable hospitality he encountered in Chicago. “We want to ensure that every guest feels valued and cared for,” he explained, underscoring the importance of genuine connections in the hospitality industry.

André Jacques, Regional Director of Marketing and Director of Sales and Marketing, shared the enthusiasm for Langham’s future, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. With rising demand and strong performance, especially during winter in 2025, the Langham brand is poised for significant growth.

Shelley Tso, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Langham Hospitality Group, added to the excitement, highlighting the unique experiences that each new hotel will bring to its guests.

As Langham Hotels and Resorts charts its course toward 100 properties by 2040, they remain steadfast in their mission: to provide unparalleled service, create meaningful connections, and ensure that every stay is nothing short of extraordinary. The world is watching, and the countdown to an exciting new era for Langham has begun!
