Issi Signs with Rick Price’s Clarice Records as they get set to re-release ‘Heaven Knows’ on July 11th.

Issi’s journey to this momentous occasion is a testament to her talent and perseverance. A self-proclaimed “theatre kid” from a young age, she has been singing and performing her heart out in school productions and choirs. However, it was in the solitude of her room, strumming her guitar and weaving heartfelt lyrics, that she discovered the true power of songwriting. “Songwriting has always been my emotional outlet and the most authentic way for me to express myself,” she reflects.

What will your first single be and when can we expect the release?
Rick and I are so excited to announce that our first official release together will be a brand new duet version of his timeless hit “Heaven Knows.” This song has always held a special place in my heart, my parents owned the original CD, and I grew up listening to it.
Originally, we had planned to release an original track as our debut collaboration, but we both felt that revisiting Heaven Knows first would be the perfect way to introduce our partnership to the world.
It’s nostalgic, powerful, and deeply emotional and now it features both of our voices in a completely new take.
Also, July this year (our release month!) marks the 33rd anniversary of the original track and we wanted to honour its legacy.
How has Rick Price influenced your music and what do you love about his music in particular?
Rick is one of the first true storytellers in music I ever resonated with. His songs are rich with emotion and meaning, they don’t just sound beautiful; they say something. I’ve always gravitated toward music that touches the heart and tells a story.
Rick’s influence has been especially profound, not only because I grew up listening to him, but now because I have the privilege of learning from him directly.
Through our sessions, he has helped me refine my songwriting, deepen my connection to my artistry and stay true to my voice. He’s incredibly intuitive when it comes to crafting melodies and lyrics, it’s like the songs just flow through him. Watching him work is incredibly inspiring and has completely changed the way I approach music. He is a natural storyteller and an artist I aspire to be.
How often do you work with Rick and what is the process when rereleasing “Heaven Knows” as a duet?
Rick and I officially write and work together about twice a week, primarily via video calls due to the distance (he’s in America and I’m based in Australia), but we communicate even more frequently. Despite the distance, our creative connection remains strong. We easily share recordings, lyrics and ideas and continue to collaborate seamlessly.
The idea to reimagine ‘Heaven Knows’ as a duet evolved naturally. At first, we were set on releasing an original song, but the more we talked about it, the more we realised how powerful and meaningful it would be to share this particular track together. It’s such an iconic piece of Rick’s discography and it felt like the perfect way to symbolise the beginning of this next chapter, both for me as an artist signed to his own record label and for us as collaborators, cowriters, and friends.
With this track, Rick would coach me while I was sending him vocal takes via FaceTime, and he would continuously send me draft versions of the produced track and what the next steps were.

I like to call her “our little miracle”. We’ve been working together for over a year, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear the magic we’ve created, especially our duet of my song ‘Heaven Knows.’ Due for release July 11, 2025. It’s going to be something really special!”
The serendipitous opportunity to connect with Rick Price arose during his Australian tour in May 2022, when he performed at Issi’s parents’ bar. A chance meeting turned into an invaluable friendship, as they exchanged contact details and continued to stay in touch. When Rick returned for another show in October, their discussions deepened, culminating in an invitation for Issi to attend one of his masterclass sessions. “Rick teaches with such passion and expertise, the entire session left a lasting impression on me and reignited my creative drive,” she recalls.
What followed was a period of intense mentorship and collaboration. From January 2024, Issi and Rick met two to three times a fortnight, focusing on everything from vocal techniques to performance skills. Their chemistry was undeniable, leading to collaborative songwriting sessions that bore fruit when Rick visited Australia in October 2024.
The moment that would change Issi’s life came in March 2025, when Rick called with life-altering news: he believed she was the right artist to join his label. “I was in the car with my mum at the time and I burst into tears. It was an incredibly emotional and life-changing moment,” she recounts.
Now, with the spotlight firmly on her, Issi is set to take the music world by storm. Her passion, talent, and the support of a legendary mentor like Rick Price have positioned her uniquely in a competitive industry. As she prepares to release new music and embark on this exciting journey, fans can only anticipate the magic that will unfold from this promising collaboration.
