Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough lend their support for the Annual Mother’s Day Classic!

On Mother’s Day this year, Australia came together in a vibrant display of unity and compassion as the annual Mother’s Day Classic took place. With a stunning turnout of 90,000 participants, the event transformed our cities across the nation into a sea of pink and teal, symbolising the fight against breast and ovarian cancer. Among the notable attendees were television personality Karl Stefanovic and his wife, Jasmine Yarbrough, who joined the throngs of supporters in this heartfelt celebration of mothers everywhere.

The Mother’s Day Classic is more than just a fun run/walk, it’s a powerful movement that raises crucial funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). As participants donned their pink and teal attire, they carried the message of hope and solidarity, showing that together, we can make a difference.

The atmosphere is always electric as families, friends, and individuals of all ages gather to honour loved ones affected by breast and ovarian cancer. The event featured a variety of activities, including 4km and 8km runs, encouraging everyone to get involved, regardless of fitness level. Many chose to walk in memory of those they have lost or to support survivors in their journey, demonstrating that the love of a mother can transcend even the most challenging battles.

Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough’s presence at the event brought additional attention to the cause. Their involvement highlights the importance of public figures in raising awareness, inspiring others to take part in such significant causes.

Every step taken during the Mother’s Day Classic serves a purpose, this year alone, the funds raised will go directly to vital research that seeks to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast and ovarian cancers. The fundraising efforts will remain open until June 30th, allowing those who couldn’t participate in the event to contribute and make a difference in the lives of countless women and families.

“Every year the Mother’s Day Classic is more than just an event – it’s a meaningful ritual for tens of thousands of women and families across Australia,” MDC Foundation CEO Zara Lawless said.

“It’s always heartwarming to see so many families and friends come together on Mother’s Day, to remember, to celebrate and to hope for a future where breast and ovarian cancer no longer take the lives of the women we love.

“We are thrilled by such a strong turnout, 90,000 people at 85 events nationwide, and appreciate everyone who has come out today to participate, volunteer or donate in support of breast and ovarian cancer research.

“But the work doesn’t stop here. Every additional dollar raised in the coming weeks will help to fund critical research through the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, improving health outcomes for women now and for generations to come.”

As we bask in the glow of this year’s successful event, it’s essential to remember that the fight against cancer is ongoing. With each donation, we are investing in a future where fewer women will face the devastating impacts of these diseases. Every dollar counts, and collectively, we have the power to bring about change.
