Australia’s industry event seasons bring forth glitz and glamour – with no exception of star-studded celebs wearing the latest creations. Couture Menswear have been crafting and creating modern yet timeless looks, showcasing a myriad of styles at the recent Logies.
Couture Menswear commenced trading 10 years ago, adapting their designs over the course of Australia’s dramatic fashion evolutions. They present a new fashion-forward approach to fit the flair of each individual.
“We established a presence as innovative, forward-thinking designers, offering a refreshing perspective and high attention to detail. From intricate hand beading to classic tailoring, we offer a diverse and rich selection of design options to reflect the modern man.”
Couture menswear experiment with different stylistic fashion features to achieve a perfect fit, Shallen and Flavio describe their dramatic vision.
“We pride ourselves on combining an array of avant-garde design techniques which include experimental thought involving colour, texture, embellishment and attention to achieving the perfect fit. Our showcase designs demonstrate visionary perspective and aim to create excitement, drama and beauty.”
The two are committed to providing unique designs that go beyond traditional barriers of design in turn formulated memorable pieces to be enjoyed, especially on the red carpet.
“We are uniquely positioned to offer cutting edge designs that work for the everyday man – creating timeless yet exciting pieces.”
The 2024 Logies acted as the perfect platform for Couture Menswear to wow audiences and come together with the creative industry to display innovative designs. Shallen and Flavio explain their role within Australia’s biggest events.
“For us, we get the opportunity to showcase our designs at the nation’s premier television event. Being able to connect and collaborate with our colleagues across the industry and to see the final looks come together on the night where all the magic happens is a highlight. All the attendees we dressed were outstanding to work with and we look forward to our next exciting venture in this space.”
Recent television personalities were styled in Couture Menswear including Callum Hole and Tristan MacManus in the latest season of I’m A Celebrity AU. Callum Hole wore a specially crafted suit, to which the design process was not at all simple.
“For someone like Callum Hole, to match his larger-than-life personality, we designed him a navy velvet suit set and added hand beaded details over the torso, back and shoulders. The jacket featured 1000s of Swarovski crystals and took over 150 hours to complete. The intention of the jacket was to be a showstopper, and it did not disappoint.”
Couture menswear designed and styled a terrific variety of our favourite celebs, featuring Matthew Backer (Play school & Neighbours), Blair Joscelyne (Top Gear), Sean Segar (NCIS), and Matty Mills (SBS TV presenter).
“Sean Segar has a very cool, smooth, and gentle personality, so we opted for a burgundy pattern jacket with a belt which wrapped around his waist. It was then paired back with a black high waisted pants and black shirt. We decided to leave the shirt open collar for a sexier and moodier look which is also portrayed in his character on NCIS.”
Matty Mills stunned in a signature ombre jacket and effortless black bowtie.
“The jacket is a piece that turns heads, so it is only fair that it was worn by someone who has the confidence to pull it off.”
Couture Menswear share some of their own thoughts with some other designs they adored – including darling Sonia Krugar who wore Fatima K, being described as “an absolute vision”.
“The crystal, nude – illusion dress was a work of art in our opinion.”
Shallen and Flavio note the importance of men’s tailoring when it comes to great men’s formalwear styling.
“Good tailoring and knowing what works for your body in order for you to feel comfortable in. When someone is confident in their own skin – it shows! Wardrobe stables such as a crisp white tailored shirt and a decent pair of clean shoes will elevate almost any look.”
