The PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival’s Glam Up Runway was a night to remember, with designer Alin Le’ Kal making his festival debut and showcasing his Alk by Le’ Kal ready to wear collection. The event truly lived up to its name, with couture at its best on display for all to see.
Alin Le’ Kal, known for his stunning haute couture creations, brought his signature style to the ready to wear line, and the results were nothing short of spectacular. From backless bejewelled creations encrusted with crystals to cocktail mini dresses embellished in feathers, every piece was a work of art. However, it was his lavender cape that stole the show, a breathtaking tribute to his late friend and Melbourne Fashion Festival head of partnerships creative, Shiva Singam.
“I’m incredibly honoured to be showing this latest collection in my hometown, and can feel Shiva will be all around us,” Le’ Kal said.
The runway was graced with a special guest appearance by Julia Morris, a beloved star from I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Her presence reminded us that fashion is fun and for all to enjoy with Julia adding much excitement to an already star-studded event, and her enthusiasm for Alin’s designs was clear to see.
Alin said, “This collection is all about the cut – think low backs, high splits, dresses women want to wear to events like galas, weddings, cocktail functions or a milestone occasion.”
“The pieces are sophisticated, sexy and there’s plenty of embellishment for women who like something a little bit extra.”
Alin’s debut at the festival was a triumph, showcasing his talent and creativity to a whole new audience. His collection was a perfect blend of sophistication and playfulness, with each piece telling its own unique story.
