JASON GRECH has become a formidable talent amongst the Australian Fashion Industry. His ambition to become a leading designer in the industry has been met with hard work, innovative vision, and the ability to create attention-grabbing designs.
JASON GRECH AW/22 presented at this year’s Melbourne Fashion Festival closing runway held at Margaret Court Arena was nothing short of spectacular.
Jason’s couture collection was upbeat with fortifying brights of beautiful cobalt blues and captivating violets. The mood was energizing with glitz and glamour and signature JG prints injecting new light and hope that its time for us to dress up once again and leave the doom and gloom of lockdowns well and truly behind us.
As a friend of Jason’s who’s interviewed him many times over the past four years, I asked him to tell me how he really felt when seeing this collection presented on such a grand runway.
Jason says, “I’ve always sat front row at my runways and the last few collections have been shown to a much smaller live audience because of Covid restrictions which reduced the energy in the room. This runway was a return to full-scale shows, and it was much bigger than anything we’ve done before.
I decided to be amongst the crowd and energy in the room and sat in Row H so I could fully take in the experience, and it was nothing short of electric. Our track started, JASONGRECH appeared on the screens in the stadium at Margaret Court, and as soon as the first model walked hitting the runway my heart was full. I was so absorbed in the runway and the positive chatter and energy around me that I cannot explain how my body reacted, I was numb yet full of joy, I was exhausted yet full of energy and I was overwhelmed by the number of phones that were risen around me capturing the runway. I shed a few tears and I was very happy.
I’m thankful to PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival for giving us this incredible platform.”
Jason has asserted himself once again with this collection as a true creative, and leaves us to ponder the question of what could possibly be next?
