The F*RK the Invisible runway made sure it was anything but invisible bringing confidence and unapologetic glamour as the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival unveiled a show dedicated to visibility, individuality, and fearless self-expression.
Layne Beachley steals the spotlight.

“From the beach… to the runway. Well that escalated quickly! Last night I swapped my bikini for a very see-through dress and walked the catwalk for @lisa_barron_official at the F** the Invisible Runway during Melbourne Fashion Festival”
The seven-time world surfing champion traded waves for the catwalk, commanding the runway for designer Lisa Barron in a sheer, barely-there ensemble that left the crowd roaring. At 53, Beachley strutted with the poise, power, and a magnetic presence as she nodded and waved to the crowd, thanking them for the support.

Lisa Barron says, “I’m on cloud nine after celebrating 30 years with the Melbourne Fashion Festival. My journey in the world of fashion has been nothing but extraordinary filled with life long friendships, that transcend borders. Witnessing two of my dearest friends on the runway, Nicky Buckley and Layne Beachley was truly unforgettable.
Front row support came from her husband, Kirk Pengilly of INXS, proudly watching as the celebration of Australian fashion unfolded.

The message of the night was clear: age is no barrier. Melbourne favourite Nicky Buckley proved just that as she glided down the runway in a luxe velveteen jumpsuit, once again earning thunderous applause.
Many fans on Instagram have called Nicky the OG!

The evening also featured an impressive lineup of established designers including Effie Kats, Farage, Julie Goodwin, Kara Baker, Manning Cartell and Mariam Seddiq.

Special guests in attendance included Jo Hall, Olivia Molly Rogers, Annalise Dalins, and Tayla Broad, adding star power to an already electric evening.

Bold reds, striking canary yellow against black, luxury couture suiting in cream and black, and high-impact shimmer dominated the runway — creating a visual feast of strength, sophistication, and unapologetic glamour.

F*RK The Invisible Runway delivered a powerful reminder that women can look sexy, feel confident and command a room at any stage of life. Age is not a limitation — it is a celebration. Confidence does not expire, and style has no barrier.
