Nick Daicos and Arlette Amor dress to impress at the Caulfield Guineas.

The Caulfield Guineas Kicks Off with Glamour and Excitement

The Caulfield Guineas, a highlight of the Spring racing calendar, commenced on Saturday, bringing together a vivid array of fashion, excitement, and, of course, thrilling horse racing. The atmosphere was electric as attendees gathered to celebrate the first day of the three-day Caulfield Cup Carnival.

Among the notable guests was Nick Daicos, the official Sportsbet ambassador, who turned heads alongside his girlfriend, Arlette Amor. Arlette stunned in a striking white strapless gown that perfectly complemented the day’s festive spirit.

The Melbourne Racing Club extended invitations to several other notable figures, including models Stella Klim and Demi Brereton, who joined the festivities with style and flair. Adding to the day’s allure was Style Ambassador Lana Wilkinson, who expertly showcased the latest in spring racing fashion, in pastel pink with a couture dress by Maelle and her hat by milliner Stephanie Spencer.

Lana is always setting trends with many other attendees eagerly following in the popular pastel pink on the day.

Adding a unique flair to the event, the South Yarra-based rooftop bar ‘Beverly’ brought a taste of Californian cool to The Avenue Precinct. Co-founder Cameron Northway and creative director Emily Gurr represented the brand’s vision, merging casual elegance with the sophisticated vibe of the carnival. Emily stunned custom Joteo, and a headpiece by Nerida Winter. Her black and white ensemble was super edgy as Em spoke of her love for the OG Addams family and 90’s culture, inspiring her look.

As the day unfolded, racegoers dressed to impress filled the Caulfield trackside, eager to witness the excitement of the races.

In the realm of high fashion, the resurgence of paragraph pastels in enchanting hues of baby pink, serene blue, and vibrant apple green has captivated the discerning eye. These soft, ethereal shades evoke a sense of whimsy and sophistication, seamlessly blending with the elegance of the season.

Complementing this pastel renaissance is the revival of the iconic pillbox hat, a timeless accessory that exudes a refined charm, effortlessly elevating any ensemble.

Handbags, too, have taken on an opulent flair, adorned with exquisite embellishments that mimic the beauty of magical shapes and colours. Each piece is a testament that accessories can transform  the ordinary into the extraordinary.

The highlight of the day came with the thrilling performance of Autumn Boy, who clinched victory in the 2025 Group 1 three-year-old mile. With jockey Damian Lane in the saddle, Autumn Boy’s win marked a significant milestone, igniting cheers and celebrations among the crowd.

As the Caulfield Cup Carnival continues over the next two weekends, attendees will undoubtedly carry the enthusiasm and joy of this opening day into the festivities ahead.
