Please tell me how this event came about and the thought process in teaching the Swifties some Tay Tay moves?
My friends Skye and Scott at Trueheart are known for producing fabulous parties that raise money for good causes. Skye thought it would be fun to create the ultimate Swifties party that brings fans together to dance and celebrate Taylor Swift, while supporting a deserving charity that empowers girls and women.
Skye knows I’m passionate about using my platform for good and spreading joy through the power of dance. So, when she asked me to co-host the event with the hilarious and talented Genevieve Hegney from Colin From Accounts, and teach some of Taylor’s signature moves, of course I was in.
Let’s Dance: Swifties Club is for everyone. It is an inclusive and welcoming party where Swifties of all ages will have the time of their lives while making new friends. Plus, we’re proudly supporting Share The Dignity, a non-profit that works to end period poverty and has collected and distributed 5.5 million free period products to people escaping family violence, homelessness, and poverty. Their organization is doing important work and we’re honoured to help shine a spotlight on the cause.
How long does the dance session run and what else can we expect?
I’m going to teach three short routines from Taylor’s Eras Tour and add in my own creative flair and style. We’re going to break up into a few different groups at the party, so everyone will get their turn to enjoy the dance lesson. It’s all about giving Swifties a few new Taylor moves that are easy to learn and tons of fun to do. We’re going to have an epic dance party with exclusive Taylor mashups by DJs WSTN and Emerald Jones, so guests will be able to test drive their new moves on the dance floor.
Will the music be all Taylor Swift songs? I assume so.
DJs WSTN and Emerald Jones will be spinning tons of Taylor hits from every Era, their mega-mix of exclusive Taylor mashups, plus tracks by other pop icons such as Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Lorde, Ed Sheeran, HAIM and more. It is going to be a feel-good set of pop anthems that will keep the dance floor packed. I’m excited to dance with my family, friends, Dancing With The Stars castmates and fellow Swifties.
What’s your favourite Taylor Swift song?
I love ‘ Shake it Off’.
It is such a fun song and I usually use it for my fitness classes.
It has a jive, upbeat feel so it will get the party started when I teach a few dance moves to it.
How long have you been a Swiftie for?
My daughter got me into Taylor Swift.
So, her songs are something both of us can enjoy together.
I see the joy her music brings to so many people, of all ages.
What are you looking forward to most about this event?
This party really has it all! The Majestik Warrior team is bringing the sparkle with their glitter tattoos and face shimmer. You can step into the Boothalicious Taylor Swift “Pick Your Era” Trading Card Booth and select your favourite Taylor era and walk away with a personalized trading card style photo. Let’s Dance: Swifties Club is the first party in the world to have this one-of-a-kind booth.
