Here You Come Again: It’s a celebration of love, resilience, and the timeless magic of Dolly Parton!

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Nashville, Tennessee and one of my highlights was stepping into Dolly Parton’s bar on Broadway, a fitting homage to the legendary country music icon. The ambiance was electric, filled with the sounds of live music and the spirit of Dolly herself. Little did I know that my journey would soon lead me to an extraordinary evening in Melbourne, where I would witness the sensational show ‘Here You Come Again.’

On Wednesday evening, special guests attended Opening Night some dressed like Dolly and others with a little country and Western vibe.

Tricia Paoluccio took centre stage as Dolly, opening with the title song “Here You Come Again.” From the moment she sang the first note, I was mesmerised. Tricia, a lifelong fan of Dolly, has masterfully captured the essence of her signature voice, transporting the audience straight to the heart of country music.

The show featured a remarkable line-up of Dolly’s iconic hits. Tricia delivered powerful renditions of classics such as ‘Jolene,’ ‘Nine to Five,’ and ‘Islands in the Stream.’ Each song was met with enthusiastic applause, but it was her rendition of ‘I Will Always Love You,’ originally penned by Dolly for Whitney Houston, that truly brought the house down.

The story of the show saw Dash Kruck playing the role of Kevin, a Dolly-obsessed fan from Bendigo, Australia. Kevin’s journey of self-discovery, marked by heartbreak and job loss during the pandemic, resonated deeply with many. As he questioned his life choices, the magic of Dolly came to life from a bedroom poster, reminding us of the power of music to heal and inspire and that great people do exist in the world that will inspire us when the chips are down.

What struck me most about “Here You Come Again” was the sheer talent of the entire cast. Each performer brought their own unique flair, contributing to a vibrant and dynamic production, with the use of clever props and interactive set. The ensemble’s energy was infectious, making it impossible not to tap your feet along with the music.

‘Here You Come Again, gets a 10 from me. It’s a celebration of love, resilience, and the timeless magic of Dolly Parton, all wrapped up in a night of unforgettable entertainment.
