Australian eyewear company RIXX Eyewear celebrated its sixth birthday at Melbourne’s Bar Bambi in what was a night of triumph after coming through the long Australian lockdowns. Founded in 2016, the brand was created to cater to both a unisex and non-binary audience and has since its launch been favoured by celebrities including Emily Ratajkoswki (pictured), Margot Robbie, Chris Hemsworth, Odell Beckham Jnr, Jayson Tatum, Alex Turner, Shanina Shaik and Aaron Paul. The beautiful range was designed to create timeless, classic frames carefully crafted to inspire confidence whilst making a luxury range that was inclusive and accessible.
Launched in 2016, the company was founded by ex-AFL footballer and Ausmerican Acés host/owner Tommy Sheridan and local Perth businessman Coen Rodgers. The company has since that time enjoyed global growth and recently appointed the highly respected Fergus Watts as Chairman (Bastion and CEO of Reach Foundation). Fergus is known for his AFL career in which he played for the Adelaide Crows and St Kilda Saints.
“We’re happy to see our brand thriving and on the faces of so many people around the globe. We plan on continuing to grow the brand abroad whilst reaching into new areas and introducing new products”, said Coen Rodgers, Co-Founder, RIXX Eyewear.” This really is a celebration of not only the brand but resilience and prevailing. We’ve just been so grateful for the support of all our customers and the love we’ve received across the globe for RIXX,”
Sunglasses make up 70% of the range and are crafted specifically to combat the harsh Australian sun with Nylon polarised lenses. In addition, they feature handmade Italian Mazzuchelli Acetate and German-engineered hinges. A firm favourite of influencers, celebrities have also adopted the brand in droves. Stylishly designed, the frames are eco-friendly, can be worn anywhere by anyone and have been designed to last at a fair price.
This was the first event for the brand since before Covid and was held in Melbourne where a stronghold of customers exists due to Co-Founder Tommy Sheridan’s network. Taking place at the Russian Brother’s newest venture Bar Bambi, the night was attended by Dion Prestia, Jack and Mikayla Crisp, Harvey Petito, Jack Watts, Mia Fevola, Michael Zerafa and Seline Ozturk to name a few. Guests enjoyed featured cocktails, and canapes and also, and they unveiled the specially named cocktail titled the “RIXX Spritz”.
“Coen is doing a fantastic job running the business. He is the man behind the scenes making sure everything runs like a well-oiled machine whereas I work on the overall growth of our business and maximising every opportunity that comes our way.” Said Tommy Sheridan, Co-Founder, RIXX Eyewear.
The RIXX range extends to blue light-blocking eyewear, prescription eyewear and their new Leisurewear collection. Blue light lenses have been shown to eliminate digital eyestrain whilst also looking great. RIXX encourages the wearer to work smarter, not harder. The glasses are constructed from premium materials and are available in Australia at selected retailers. The environmentally friendly brand uses sustainable materials and Eco-Sensitive production processes whilst also making use of Eco Cellulose Acetate POPâ Materials in some of their frames. The end result is a quality product that stands the test of time as a stylish staple for any wardrobe.
