“CORAL BROWNE: THIS F**KING LADY”
Amanda Muggleton is best known for her role as Chrissie Latham in Australian soap opera “Prisoner” is starring in the critically acclaimed one-woman play “This F**ing lady,” based on the life of Australian legendary star of stage and screen, Coral Browne. The wonderful Amanda Muggleton brings Coral Browne to sparkling life and puts this Grande Dame back in the spotlight where she belongs.
Sexually adventurous, with a deliciously bawdy wit, Coral was as well known for her glamorous lifestyle as she was for her memorable stage and screen performances (Auntie Mame, The Killing of Sister George, Dennis Potter’s Dreamchild, and Alan Bennett’s An Englishman Abroad). She had a string of famous lovers, including Paul Robeson and Maurice Chevalier, and enjoyed a late-life marriage to the king of schlock horror, Vincent Price.
“This F**ing lady”, is nothing short of brilliant as Amanda brings to life Coral Browne’s dreams of fame with many a male capturing her heart along the way. Her fractured relationship with her mother is told, as nothing she does could ever, please her. Coral’s mothers’ manipulative behaviours play havoc throughout her life.
Coral Browne was ambitious and flamboyant and paved the way for Australian actresses to head overseas as she did and shine the world over.
